Carpets - Axminster Carpets

Axminster Carpets Limited are the only UK carpet manufacturer to buy in fleeces and handle all aspects of production 'in-house'. From the scouring of the greasy wool through carding, spinning, dyeing and carpet making they can truly justify and be proud of their unique claim of 'from fleece to floor'.
All of their carpets are made with 'Homespun Yarn' from their own spinning and dyeing mill at Buckfast on the edge of Dartmoor.
They use 95% British wool in their yarns which is greatly washed using crystal clear waters from the moorland streams.

The town of Axminster recently celebrated 250 years of carpet making by honouring Axminsters two great carpet weavers, Thomas Whitty and Harry Dutfield.
The original Axminster Carpet Factory was founded by Thomas Whitty in 1755. Carpets from Axminster quickly became the undisputed choice for wealthy English country homes and town houses. Axminster Carpets were found in Chatsworth House and Brighton Pavillion as well as being bought by Kind George III and Queen Charlotte who also visited the factory.
Axminster Carpets are one of the few companies in the country to offer a 'fleece to floor' process - spinning, dyeing, designing and manufacturing each individual carpet in house. As a result, their carpets offer outstanding quality and are certain to add style, luxury and elegance to your home for years to come.
We are constantly adding new ranges to our site. If there is a particular range that you are interested in, not shown here, please give us a call.
